Customers Reviews 2009-03-31 Exactly what I wanted! Comprehensive practical and reliable information. Richly illustrated with exercises targeted to enhance critical thinking. Excellent referencing for drug information. | 2008-10-07 Excellent Reference What a wonderful synthesis of the art and science of cardiovascular nursing. Particularly impressive is the depth of pathogenesis of cardio-circulatory disorders, such as heart failure and atherosclerosis, as well as the breadth of critical topics, such as cardiovascular risk management, core nursing competencies, and optimizing patient outcomes through evidence-based practice. As an instructor of pre-novice nurses, I can attest that this text as a reference for the cardiac care of patients across the lifespan is unmatched. As an instructor of advanced cardiac and circulatory pathophysiology, I must also commend the authors and editors for creating a reference that rivals most medical pathophysiology texts, while at the same time informs contemporary nursing and advanced nursing practice. | 2008-06-30 Exceptional cardiac nursing book This is an amazingly comprehensive and ACCURATE book. It contains 90 chapters and covers everything a cardiac nurse or any other nurse who wants to know anything about cardiac nursing would want to know. There is no other book like it on the market. I recommend it highly! | 2008-01-01 Cardiac Nursing: A Companion to Braunwald's Heart Disease I ordered this to better my understanding of AVRT and AVNRT arrhythmias among other things. Initially reading it, I was very pleased and impressed. With further scrutiny, I was terribly disappointed to discover the Figure texts for Chapter 48(dysrhythmia chapter) and their associated diagram/pictorals were not matched properly-I could identify the ventricular arrhythmia 'mismatches', but not the AVRT and AVNRT diagrams. The very thing I spent $100 for was not reliable due to an editing flaw. I haven't reviewed all the other chapters-that was the editor's job, nor have I contacted the publisher to see what they intend to do about this flaw. I can see why this book is now $11 cheaper than it was 2 weeks ago! |
