2010-02-09 Very practical book! Very oriented to the main topics on every chapter... I wished it would have been edited with coloured pictures. |
2009-12-31 Incomplete No mention of ME (CFIDS).
Brauwald's larger volume is very inaccurate re ME (CFIDS). Advises exercise which can cause severe worsening of the disease. Conflates ME (CFIDS) and the symptom of chronic fatigue. No mention of Dr. Lerner's studies of cardiomyopathy or Prof. Leonard's publication on cardiac disease mortality in ME. When ME patients die of heart disease, it is, on average, at an age 25 years younger than that of the whole population of people who die of heart disease. |
2009-10-27 Appropriately challenging and high-yield question book. This question book is a great way to review the important points out of the Braunwald's text for those that do not have the time luxury to read the full text. The questions are referenced and state the page from which the question was derived in the text book. The questions are clinically relevant and very useful on a daily basis. As a Cardiology fellow, I recommend it to others in training. |
2008-11-09 Well written, but... Answers to the questions are well written and informative. The main drawback is that the format of the questions in the book do not reflect board style questions. Therefore, it is a good book for general assessment of knowledge, but not optimal as a board review question book. |
2007-06-29 Excellent review for Recertification Quite comprehensive for a review. The questions are very appropriate, but most helpful are the thorough answers. Well written and accurate, (unlike several other review texts.)
Comprehensive enough that it is unnecessary to refer to Braunwalds big text book, but useful references are included in the answers.
This is a relatively low cost, useful resource, especially for those of us who suffer through q10 year recert.... |
