Great Recipes
When I read the first book, it left me wanting more recipes, beacuse I tried a few and they were really good. This second book did not disappoint. It has a very complete set of recipes inside the framework of the rules on the first book. It even has general kitchen guidelines found in many cookboks, but this one is very easy to read and the recipes are easy to follow. Very light and practical book. (On a side note, I got a little tired of reading about her assistant this and her assistant that. I get it! you got assistants. Most of us don't.)

I wish all cookbooks used this approach to presenting recipes! "If you don't have 'A' on hand, use 'B-Z' (what you do have). Don't rush out to get one ingredient...no need to disregard a recipe for one lack of one ingredient." Brilliant, gentle, this cookbook works for me.

This book is terrible
Betheny Frankel wrote another book full of her ramblings. I expected to receive a book that contained more than a few recipes, but what I got was just that, random lists, and boring stories/terrible jokes. Most of the stuff she goes over is common sense and it is completely boring. I understand the concept that she was going for, but it could have been presented better. I would suggest finding a different book if you are looking for healthy recipes, advice, or pretty much anything else. Don't waste your money on this one!

Extremely basic
This could be useful to young adults who have just moved out on their own. It is so basic. How to make "tuna on whole wheat." There aren't many recipes. It's more of a "how to book." It was very disappointing to see no nutritional values for each recipe. Many people on a diet count calories. You are on your own for these recipes. I don't recommend this book. There are so many healthy eating recipe books on the market. This one is most likely doing well because Ms Frankel is involved.

A new perspective about cooking
I was one of those who always needed a recipe or otherwise I would make a mistake..but this book really changed the way I think about cooking and using what I have available. I think Bethenny has some great ideas on letting go of what has kept you from cooking in the past and moving forward with her variations for each recipe. I loved that she included what she thinks are the essentials to have on hand at all times. I have tried several of the recipes and so far they've turned out well with only a few tweaks (ex. the blueberry muffin recipe needed more milk than indicated). My only complaint is that I wish the recipes would have included nutritional information. Since I know she's a big proponent of healthy eating, I have to assume they are healthy.
